COVID Safe Plan
Aspendale LSC is currently working with Life Saving Victoria to establish a a COVID safe plan in order for the club to commence club activities for the 20/21 lifesaving season.
ALSC is a COVID Safe Organisation
The club will be modifying its programs this year to ensure the safety of our members and the community. We will follow the direction of Life Saving Victoria and the Government. Some of the changes this season will be everyday changes that you are used to (hand washing, sanitising, staying home if your are sick), and some of the modifications will be on a larger scale to limit the potential spread of COVID-19.
Welcome to the 20-21 Season
The Aspendale Life Saving Club is welcoming of people from all communities. With support from the policies of Life Saving Victoria, our club aims to provide a safe and comfortable environment where everyone can be safe around water and enjoy their time at the beach.
For all Australians, the beach forms a large part of our lifestyle and attracts many visitors over the summer period. As stated on the website of Lifesaving Victoria, “many recent Australians have not received water or swimming education that is so important to their safety”. It is our role as a club to facilitate learning and provide education about beach and water safety for everyone in the local area. We particularly recognise the importance of community and our duty to provide a welcoming environment for all at the Aspendale Beach.
The Aspendale Lifesaving Club encourages the involvement of all willing participants, regardless of previous surf lifesaving experience. Our nippers program for ages 5-14 is particularly suitable for beginners, and a place where youth can learn lifesaving and leadership skills with new friends. We also offer many roles for parents to get involved in the Nippers program and participate in the Lifesaving Club. It is important that all genders are equally represented within the club and that opportunities are made available for all to contribute.
As a club historically based on family and community engagement, the Aspendale Life Saving Club celebrates enjoyment of the beach and safety around the water at all times. With an increasingly diverse local population, we recognise the different needs of people and hope to alleviate common barriers to participation in our Lifesaving Club. This goal includes the celebration of diversity within our programs and zero tolerance of discrimination within the community. We are always open to new members and will continue to work towards any necessary social change.
We hope to see you on the beach soon,
Welcome to Aspendale LSC
Aspendale Life Saving Club was established in 1926, catering for the residential growth in the area as well as the weekend visitors to the pristine beach and popular horse and motor vehicle racing track.
Some 88 years on the race tracks are long gone but Aspendale Life Saving Club is still providing services to it's local community and ensuring a safe beach environment.
